Spring time=Smoothie Time!

About 2 years ago I was on major smoothie kick! At the time, I would just put frozen fruits, some greek yogurt and ice and it would satisfy…except I definitely always wanted something else to go with it because it never really filled me up.

Recently-I was staying the night at my uncles house while the Hubby was gone (and my Memaw was there, too) and he made me try one of his green smoothie concoctions. If you know me, you know I am NOT big on trying new things especially if it sounds like there could potentially be things in it that I don’t like.

Well, lo and behold I LOVED it. So this past weekend while I was grocery shopping I asked him what all he put in his, combined with doing a little “green smoothie” googling and I came up with a delicious recipe…that actually keeps me full!

So if you are interested in green smoothies this a great one to start out on and I know there are a TON more recipes and things you can add to it. Love google πŸ™‚

I found this link that has what’s called the “Beginners Luck Smoothie” and tweaked it. The rest of the website looks pretty informative and interesting, too although I didn’t look too in depth.

I used…

  • 2 Cups of Kale
  • 1 Cup Water, 1 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1 Cup Blueberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Cup of mixed frozen fruit (strawberries, mangos and pineapple I think?)
  • I also added 3 Tablespoons of an Omega Blend (sprouted chia; sprouted flax; and sprouted brown rice.)

No pretty smoothie pictures…but if you go try it out you can see one in real life πŸ˜€

Happy Wednesday…and Happy Smoothie-ing πŸ˜‰
